Academics is delighted to be working in partnership with a friendly, nurturing, and high-performing primary school. The school is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed KS1 Phase Leader to join their team from May 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the Key Stage 1 team, drive high standards of teaching and learning, and make a lasting impact on pupil progress within a collaborative and forward-thinking school environment.

Role Details Location: Haringey Start Date: May 2026 Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage Key Stage 1, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across Year 1 and Year 2 Support, coach, and develop teachers to improve classroom practice and outcomes Monitor pupil progress and attainment, implementing strategies to close gaps Ensure strong phonics teaching and early literacy development in line with national expectations Contribute to curriculum planning, development, and assessment across KS1 Work closely with senior leadership to drive school improvement priorities Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-achieving learning environment Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have strong experience teaching within Key Stage 1 Have experience leading a subject, year group, or phase (or be ready to step into leadership) Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills Be passionate about early learning, phonics, and raising attainment Be committed to inclusion and ensuring all pupils achieve their full potential
