WGM Engineering Ltd, part of RSK Group has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Mechanical Designer to join our Technical & Design team on a permanent contract based in Glasgow with Hybrid Working arrangements.

About The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding, self-delivery design and build partner recognised across the Scottish and English Water industry for outstanding high quality work, outstanding client service and a commitment to health, safety and wellbeing.
The role of the Lead Designer is to manage the production of discipline specific engineering design deliverables for a range of multi-disciplinary engineering projects across the Mechanical, Electrical, ICA and Civil disciplines within the Water Industry. You will be involved in the initial concept design, design development and management of projects through to detailed design, commissioning and completion across all business streams as required.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a team of Designers, working to achieve individual project design deliverables in line with departmental and company goals. Ensure that all design work within the team is completed in compliance with all WGM QA Policies, Procedures and Specifications as necessary. Attend sites when required to assist with carrying out surveys and data gathering. Build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external key contacts in order to maximise efficiencies and identify further opportunities. Lead and perform as key member of a highly efficient, multi-disciplinary design team.
Person Specification
Strong technical knowledge relevant to Mechanical design. Commercial awareness of your discipline. High attention to detail and a methodical to work. Competent IT and CAD knowledge. Excellent analytical and numeracy skills. Creative problem-solving mindset. Effective communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with colleagues, clients, contractors, and other project partners.
Salary And Benefits
Up to £60,000 per annum/Full Time Equivalent.
