The London Borough of Merton’s award-winning Library & Heritage Service is seeking to appoint a Library Manager for Morden Library on a one-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension.
As Library Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing staff, ensuring consistently high standards of customer service, and the effective management of the building, including health and safety compliance.
You will bring strong leadership and proven management experience, with the ability to motivate, support, and performance manage your team to achieve and exceed service targets. Experience of setting objectives, monitoring performance, and driving continuous improvement is essential.
The role also involves developing and promoting services, working collaboratively with key stakeholders, and embracing innovative ways of working.
A strong understanding of how libraries contribute to community needs and council priorities is essential.
