Lotus Cars Limited is the manufacturing site of Lotus in the UK. Here we produce all sportscars types such as the Emira and the Evija. To bring the company to the level we want it to be, we are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer in the Manufacturing Engineering Department to join us at out site in Norwich.

Summary

The role involves supporting the cars side of the business in the technical management and maintenance of existing production lines, as well as the development and introduction of new processes and tooling, to support new products to those lines. The role provides the opportunity to undertake a wide range of tasks and enables the successful candidate to work with many different areas of the business.

What You'll Do

Act as first point of contact for welding and fabrication issues, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions. Support production and projects, identifying build issues and driving resolutions through continuous improvement systems. Conduct risk management activities (PFMEA, equipment, personnel, and facility) while promoting a safe working environment. Improve manufacturing efficiency through analysis of processes, material flow, tooling, and line balancing. Develop and maintain process documentation, ensuring clear communication of man, method, machine, and material requirements. Design and optimise layouts, tooling, and fixtures to maximise efficiency and support new product introduction. Coordinate training and development of operators to ensure adherence to standardised, safe, and quality-driven processes. Support time studies, process audits, and validation of new tooling, equipment, and manufacturing methods. Oversee tooling and equipment lifecycle, including specification, procurement, commissioning, and maintenance records. Drive delivery of launch plans through structured planning (Plan–Do–Check–Act) and collaboration with manufacturing teams. Provide technical support for engineering changes, virtual builds, and milestone reviews, ensuring right-first-time production.

What You'll Bring

MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Project skills & use of process systems. Logical thinker for problem solving and process planning. Knowledge of Welding and Manufacturing processes. Experience of working within a fabrication environment. Self motivated & driven to succeed, with a positive 'can do' attitude.
