Real-Time Market Data | Commodities Trading | Architecture & Engineering Leadership A leading global trading organisation is looking for an exceptional Market Data Engineering Team Lead to take ownership of a business-critical market data environment supporting trading, risk, and quantitative analytics across global commodities markets.
This is a rare opportunity for someone who genuinely lives and breathes real-time market data — someone who understands the full lifecycle from vendor feeds and ingestion through to architecture, engineering, distribution, and downstream trading and risk consumption. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the organisation’s enterprise market data capability, driving the strategy, architecture, and engineering direction of a large-scale platform environment that sits at the heart of front-office decision making.
The business is investing heavily in modernising its market data estate, including the development of a unified enterprise data model, scalable real-time distribution capabilities, and next-generation integration frameworks across trading and risk platforms.

What You’ll Be Doing Driving the strategy and evolution of enterprise-wide market data platforms Leading the design of scalable real-time and batch market data architectures Building highly resilient and performant data distribution services for trading and risk consumers Acting as the go-to expert for market data engineering and platform architecture Working closely with Trading, Quant Engineering, and Risk teams on critical analytical and valuation requirements Leading platform modernisation initiatives focused on standardisation, scalability, and operational efficiency Managing and improving integrations across market data vendors, downstream systems, and ETRM platforms Owning platform stability, operational performance, and engineering best practices Mentoring and leading a highly skilled engineering team in a fast-paced front-office environment
What They’re Looking For Deep expertise in real-time market data engineering Strong understanding of market data architecture, distribution, and platform design Experience building and leading enterprise-grade market data platforms within trading environments Strong technical background with hands-on engineering capability across data pipelines and services Experience working with streaming and event-driven architectures Knowledge of trading, risk, and quantitative analytics workflows Experience with market data platforms such as ZE PowerGroup Zema Ability to operate comfortably at both strategic and technical depth Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills within complex global environments
