Market Data (Sourcing & Strategy) – Global Hedge Fund – Up to £150K TC Package + Rapid Progression

Our client, an industry leading global quant / systematic strategy hedge fund, is building out it’s Data Sourcing & Strategy team and is looking to hire a professional into a newly created role.

The hire will join a lean, flat structured Data Management team and report to the Head of Market Data who is building out all facets of the team. The firm has doubled in size over the last two years and has built out a number of new investment teams globally, hence the requirement to hire a Data Sourcing Analyst. Whilst traditional market data sourcing will be a key focus, the hire will also face off to Portfolio Managers working to understand their distinct data needs and also looking at sourcing alternative data. The hire will take ownership of the entire data managemnt lifecycle from vendor outreach through to trialling, contract negotiations and working with the Data Engineers to ensure that the datasets are properly onboarded. You will also take ownership of key existing relationships with alternative and traditional data vendors managing contract renewals, navigating changes in licensing structures and acting as a point of escalation for any issues.

The hire will have the opportunity to work on an array of dynamic projects supporting the launch of new investment strategies across different geographies. This includes the integration of new AI tools to enhance usage tracking, cost optimization and to streamline operational processes such as invoice management or troubleshooting.

Ideal candidates will have experience as a Data Sourcing Analyst or Data Procurement Specialist that has worked with traditional and/or alternative data and has strong experience managing vendor relationships and taking a proactive approach to data acquisition. Candidates will ideally come from a hedge fund or alternative investment manager, however our client is open to considering strong candidates coming from asset managers or from data vendors.
