The Opportunity
Are you a proactive individual looking to build a career in Supply Chain? ENVEA UK Ltd is seeking a Material Control Assistant to join our team in Swavesey.
This is a pivotal, wide-ranging role designed to ensure our Cambridge production facility always has the materials it needs to succeed. Whether you are an experienced Supply Chain Assistant from a manufacturing background or a motivated individual looking to kickstart a career in Purchasing and Supply, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
In this varied role, you will support the full lifecycle of Supply Chain operations, including:
Expediting & Supplier Liaison: Contacting suppliers daily via phone and email to track order acknowledgments and delivery progress. ERP Management: Maintaining the ENVEA ERP system with real-time data and escalating potential delivery delays to the Supply Chain Manager. Production Support: Liaising with the production team to provide delivery updates and resolve component shortages. Procurement: Purchasing direct materials, equipment, and consumables, as well as onboarding new suppliers. Stock Control: Conducting Perpetual Inventory (PI) counting, investigating discrepancies, and assisting with stock management. Administration: Resolving invoice queries, gathering data for reports, and maintaining the purchasing database.
What You’ll Need
Education: Well-educated with good GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above) and A-Levels (or equivalent). Further education in a numerical, engineering, or science-based subject is a plus. Experience: Previous experience in Purchasing, Material Control, or Manufacturing administration is beneficial but not essential for the right candidate. Tech Savvy: Strong IT literacy, particularly in MS Excel. Experience with ERP/MRP systems (ideally SAP or Sage) is a significant advantage. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for building relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Travel
