Sherwood Forest Hospitals are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our Pathology team. You will help to deliver a safe and efficient diagnostic service, ensuring high standards of practice are achieved and maintained.

Key Responsibilities

Data Entry: Accurately and efficiently enter data into the Pathology system. Specimen Handling: Label and process specimens, dispatch them to the appropriate laboratory area, place them on equipment for analysis, or prepare them for delivery to external laboratories. Rotational Duties: Participate in rotas to cover extended working hours, including Saturday and Sunday mornings and Bank Holidays.

Central Services Tasks

Specimen Reception: Receive all specimens and request forms. Data Entry: Ensure accurate and timely data entry. Pre-Analysis: Conduct preliminary analysis of specimens. Results Line: Manage the central results line. Consumables Distribution: Distribute Pathology consumables to users. Report Management: Print and distribute laboratory reports.
