MHE Trainer
📍 Coventry 💰 Competitive
The Role This is where you move from just using equipment to being the person who sets the standard for how it should be used. You’ll be responsible for training, coaching, and assessing operators across site, making sure everyone is safe, competent, and confident on MHE. It’s hands on, practical, and you’ll be out on the floor working with people day to day, not stuck behind a desk. You’ll play a key role in maintaining safety, improving standards, and making sure the operation runs smoothly by having the right people trained the right way.
What You’ll Be Doing • Delivering MHE training across a range of equipment (reach, counterbalance, PPT, etc.) • Carrying out assessments for new starters and existing staff • Refreshing and upskilling operators to maintain high standards • Making sure all training is compliant with company and legal requirements • Keeping accurate training records and documentation up to date • Supporting site safety by promoting best practice and challenging unsafe behaviour • Working closely with Team Leaders and Supervisors to identify training needs • Helping investigate incidents involving MHE and supporting corrective training • Ensuring equipment is used correctly and reporting any misuse or issues • Coaching individuals on the floor to improve confidence and performance • Supporting general warehouse operations when needed
What You’ll Need • Previous experience operating MHE in a warehouse environment • Recognised MHE training qualification (e.g. RTITB, ITSSAR or similar) • Confidence delivering training and speaking to groups and individuals • Strong understanding of warehouse safety and best practice • Ability to challenge behaviour and maintain standards • Good organisational skills and attention to detail for record keeping • Basic IT skills for tracking training and reporting • A hands on approach and willingness to be out on the floor
What You Might Not Like • You’ll need to challenge people when standards aren’t met • It’s not just training, you’ll be involved in day to day operations too • You’ll be responsible for keeping training records accurate and up to date • You’ll be working in a fast paced environment where priorities can shift
What To Do Next If you’re someone who takes safety seriously, enjoys developing others, and wants to play a key role in raising standards across site, this is a great opportunity!
