This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. About The Role
As a Pharmacy Technician (Higher Level) in Aseptic services, you will play a key role in the Aseptic team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, a renowned teaching hospital with a reputation for excellence. In this role, you will:
Support the training and development of the Aseptic team, ensuring high standards of service delivery. Support the ongoing development of the Aseptic service. Make a difference to patient care by ensuring safe and efficient provision of specialist sterile medicines including chemotherapy, intravenous and intrathecal injections and nutritional infusions to adult, paediatric and neonatal patients. Responsible for ensuring standards of work are adhered to by staff and would be required to develop practices as necessary to continue to comply with National standards and Good Manufacturing Practices.

About You
We are looking for someone who:
Is a registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council Has a National Certificate in Pharmacy Services and Scottish Vocational Qualification Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent Has the HN unit: Procedures for Pharmacy Dispensary Checking Technicians or Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician Award (provided by Buttercups or NPA, 2019 or before) Has an HNC Pharmacy Services Development and Management or be able to demonstrate equivalent competence. Any applicant who does not hold the HNC in Pharmacy Services Development and Management MUST complete the Band 5 Pharmacy Technician Higher Level HNC Equivalence Mapping Assessment Form and submit it with the application as a supporting document. If you are required to undertake this and/or require some support, please get in touch as below. The PACT qualification is essential as this role incorporates aseptic checking technician duties - support will be given to complete this qualification whilst in post. Good team working, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
