The Role We are currently seeking an experienced and professional Night Porter to join our Front of House team at The Royal Toby Hotel. This is a key position within the hotel, working independently in a fast-paced and sometimes challenging environment, ensuring outstanding guest service, safety, and smooth overnight operations.
This role requires flexibility to cover additional shifts when needed, including holiday cover.
Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Revenue & Operations Manager, duties will include:
Welcoming guests and managing late check-ins/check-outs Settling guest accounts and posting room charges Handling guest enquiries in person and by telephone Taking reservations using the Rezlynx booking system Responding to guest requests and resolving issues calmly and professionally Removing room service trays from corridors Carrying out overnight security checks and ensuring guest safety Acting as Fire Marshal and First Aider (full training provided) Completing night audit procedures and end-of-day/month administrative tasks Maintaining cleanliness in public areas, including reception, bar, and restaurant areas Preparing the restaurant for breakfast service Lighting the fire during winter months ready for guests in the morning Monitoring stock levels and ensuring hotel supplies and equipment are readily available Providing exceptional hospitality and ensuring guests’ expectations are exceeded
