At Houlton, we’re looking for an enthusiastic Nursery Room Leader to guide and support our team in providing outstanding care and education. In this rewarding leadership role, you’ll have the opportunity to mentor, nurture, and create a positive impact for children, families, and your colleagues.
To be considered for this role, you must hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Pay: £31,844 per Annum, based on experience (40 hours per week).
Working Hours: Full-time 38-42 hours over 4 days per week, shifts from 7.30am-5.30pm or 8am-6pm

About Our Nursery
The nursery in Rugby is a carefully planned, purpose-built nursery which offers a stimulating and engaging learning environment for our community’s children. The nursery was opened at the end of 2021. The nursery is light and airy even on cloudy days and we are fortunate to have an allotment space for the children to develop a lifelong love and understanding of sustainable planting and growing. The Old Station Nursery Houlton is in close proximity to Houlton Play Park and the new Co-op, with easy access to the main Crick Road and a car park right next door.
What Being a Nursery Room Leader Involves
As a Nursery Room Leader, you will work alongside the Nursery Manager to lead and inspire your team while delivering exceptional care and education. Key responsibilities include:
Leading and mentoring the team to provide high-quality early years education with passion and energy. Supporting the Nursery Manager to ensure smooth nursery operations and consistent quality. Acting as a role model by promoting initiative, creativity, and high standards of care. Building strong relationships with families, colleagues, and external agencies to support the best outcomes for children. Overseeing the team’s implementation of the EYFS framework, ensuring engaging learning opportunities. Taking charge of nursery operations in the Nursery Manager’s absence. Encouraging continuous improvement through feedback and supporting professional development. Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that meets each child’s needs.
