Salary: £26,509.44
Location: Mon-Fri (40 hours per week)
Hours: 08.00 – 16.30

Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Optical Lab Technician to join our laboratory team. This role plays a key part in delivering high quality optical products by accurately manufacturing and glazing lenses in line with prescriptions, quality standards, and turnaround times.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret and process optical prescriptions accurately Edge, glaze, and assemble lenses into frames Carry out quality checks to ensure lenses meet prescription and company standards Operate and maintain optical lab machinery safely Identify and resolve production issues efficiently Maintain a clean, organised, and safe laboratory environment Consistently meet turnaround time targets to support timely delivery of glasses
Skills And Experience
Maths and English to National Level 4 or 5 or equivalent Strong attention to detail and time management skills Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy over sustained periods Ability to follow instructions and prioritise workload effectively

High level of attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and quality Good manual dexterity and practical skills, with the ability to handle delicate materials and equipment Ability to work efficiently and maintain accuracy under pressure and to tight turnaround times Reliable, with a positive and team focused approach to work Strong awareness of health and safety, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
Desirable
Previous experience working within an optical laboratory or similar production environment Experience using optical lab equipment, including edging and glazing machinery Familiarity with interpreting optical prescriptions
