Procurement Manager – Engineering & Maintenance (Aerospace / MRO) London | £75,000 + Bonus + Benefits
A leading aviation organisation is seeking a strategic Procurement Manager to lead category management across Engineering & Maintenance. This is a high-impact role focused on shaping long-term sourcing strategies, optimising supplier performance, and delivering sustainable value across a complex global supply base.
This is not a transactional role—it's a strategic position requiring a strong category management mindset and deep expertise within the aerospace / aviation sector.
Key Responsibilities Own and deliver category strategies across MRO, powerplant, airframe, spares, and technical services Lead long-term strategic sourcing initiatives across a global supplier base, including MROs, OEMs, and component providers Conduct in-depth spend analysis, market intelligence, and supplier benchmarking to inform category direction Drive strategic supplier relationship management (SRM), focusing on performance, innovation, and risk mitigation Lead complex commercial and contractual negotiations, ensuring long-term value creation Partner closely with Engineering, Technical Services, and Maintenance Planning to align procurement strategy with operational needs Identify and deliver cost optimisation, value creation, and continuous improvement initiatives Ensure robust governance, compliance, and risk management across all supplier contracts Support the development of procurement best practice and mentor junior team members where required
Skills & Experience Proven experience in strategic category management (not transactional procurement) Strong background within aerospace / aviation, ideally within an airline, MRO, or aircraft leasing environment Deep understanding of Engineering & Maintenance categories, including MRO, spares, and technical services Demonstrated ability to develop and execute long-term sourcing strategies Strong commercial acumen with experience leading complex negotiations and supplier strategies Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior technical and operational stakeholders Degree qualified (or equivalent); CIPS qualification desirable
