Rigger / Erector (Advanced) - Fawley

Role Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Advanced Erector to carry out lifting, rigging, and structural erection activities safely and efficiently. This role is hands-on and critical to site operations, requiring strict adherence to company procedures, legal requirements, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Execute lifting and rigging operations in line with approved procedures and instructions from the Appointed Person (AP) Carry out structural steel erection and complex rigging activities Interpret arrangement and isometric drawings accurately Set up and maintain safe working areas before and during operations Monitor ongoing lifting activities and report performance and issues Act as a permit acceptor within site safety systems Follow critical task procedures for high-risk lifting operations Maintain lifting equipment registers and ensure compliance Support and mentor trainees to develop trade skills

What You’re Accountable For

Delivering tasks safely, on time, and to specification Producing high-quality work that meets contract requirements Identifying improvements and working efficiently to reduce cost and delays Maintaining high safety standards and actively reporting issues

Qualifications

Requirements (Don’t apply without these)

NVQ Level 3 / ACE Card (or equivalent) in Erecting or Moving Loads Completed apprenticeship in a relevant trade CCNSG Safety Passport

Skills & Knowledge

Strong understanding of lift categories and execution methods Ability to work from technical drawings without constant supervision Solid knowledge of rigging techniques and equipment Competence in planning and executing complex lifts Ability to communicate clearly on-site

Desirable (Gives you an edge)

Appointed Person (AP) certification Experience operating overhead or polar cranes

What You’ll Be Doing Day-to-Day

Working with site teams, engineers, and subcontractors Handling complex lifts involving heavy components like vessels, piping, and structural steel Coordinating with crane operators and ensuring safe execution of lifting plans Carrying out tasks like flame cutting and equipment setup
