Company Description FixFX is a 2D visual effects studio specializing in film and television production. With expertise in cosmetics, beauty enhancement, wig work, complex clean-ups, light compositing, and re-timing, fixFX delivers high-quality results at scale.
Role Overview We are looking for skilled and detail-oriented Roto Artists. In this role, you will be responsible for creating accurate mattes and rotoscoped elements to support compositing and visual effects work across a range of projects.
Key Responsibilities Create precise rotoscoping mattes for characters, props, and environments Produce clean garbage mattes and holdouts to assist compositors Work closely with compositors and VFX supervisors to meet shot requirements Ensure consistency and accuracy across sequences and multiple shots Meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of detail and quality Organise and manage files efficiently in line with production pipelines Required Skills & Experience Minimum 1 year of professional experience in a rotoscoping or similar role Strong understanding of rotoscoping techniques and edge detail Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g. Silhouette, Nuke, Mocha Pro) Good knowledge of keying, tracking, and compositing workflows High level of attention to detail and patience Ability to follow briefs and take direction effectively Strong time management and organisational skills
Desirable Skills Experience working in a VFX or post-production environment Understanding of camera movement and motion blur Familiarity with paint/cleanup work Basic compositing skills

Working Conditions Project specific contracts Remote / studio-based (if you are local or a commutable distance to Glasgow, then this position will be studio based. If you are not local to Glasgow, then this position will be remote / hybrid working) Working hours are 1000 - 1800. 5 days a week
