Senior Engineering Lead – Defence Digital – Systems / Technical Authority – Hybrid (UK)

We’re looking for a Senior Engineering Lead to provide technical leadership across a high-profile defence digital programme.

This role is focused on ensuring technical integrity, design assurance, and alignment to operational requirements, acting as the senior engineering authority across the full delivery lifecycle.

You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure engineering decisions balance performance, risk, cost, safety, and security.

Skills & Experience:

Essential: Significant experience leading engineering delivery in complex systems or digital programmes Strong background in systems engineering and technical assurance Experience overseeing technical governance, design reviews, and configuration control Proven ability to manage and challenge suppliers and technical teams Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including senior military / defence environments Experience managing technical risk across the delivery lifecycle SC Clearance (active or eligible)

Desirable: Experience within Defence or Defence Digital programmes Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) or relevant professional accreditation Exposure to safety, security, or mission-critical systems
