Employee Relations Advisor (Senior HR Advisor)

Are you an experienced HR professional who thrives on solving complex people challenges and building strong relationships with managers?

We’re looking for a confident and commercially minded HR Adviser to join a growing team. This is a fast-paced, advisory-focused role where no two days are the same.

Location: Office based 1 day per week - Wirral, 4 days home Salary: Up to £40k Benefits: 25 days holiday, pension, health cashback plan, life assurance

They pride themselves on their culture, internal training and development, and the opportunity to support well-known clients with their HR issues (employee relations focus).

The role

You’ll act as a trusted partner to managers, providing clear, practical HR advice across a wide range of employee relations matters. From handling sensitive cases to coaching managers through difficult conversations, you’ll play a key role in driving positive outcomes while protecting both people and business performance. Providing expert HR advice via phone and digital channels across a broad range of ER issues, including disciplinaries, grievances and dismissals Managing complex and sensitive cases from start to finish, ensuring timely and effective resolution Coaching and supporting managers to build confidence in handling people matters Escalating high-risk or complex issues where appropriate Ensuring advice aligns with agreed processes, policies and service standards Maintaining accurate case records using internal systems Supporting and mentoring more junior team members when needed Occasionally attending on-site meetings or supporting client facing initiatives Contributing to wider HR or transformation projects

What skills and experience we're looking for:

Proven experience in an HR Advisory role, with strong exposure to employee relations Solid understanding of UK employment law and its practical application CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience) preferred Confident communicator, able to influence and build relationships at all levels Commercial, pragmatic approach to problem solving Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases A collaborative team player who enjoys supporting and developing others
