A high-growth strategic advisory firm is seeking a senior-level consultant to work with SME business owners and leadership teams across Hertfordshire, helping them improve performance, prepare for growth or exit, and make more commercially effective decisions. This is a senior advisory opportunity aimed at individuals with substantial commercial leadership experience who want to transition into a more strategic consulting environment. Ideal backgrounds could include former Managing Directors, CEOs, Commercial Directors, business owners, or senior consultants with strong SME exposure. Humanity keeps inventing new corporate titles for the same basic skill: solving expensive problems before they become catastrophic ones. The Senior Management Consultant role combines management consulting, commercial strategy, and financial performance advisory, supported by advanced proprietary analysis tools and structured methodologies.

The Role
You will advise owner-managed businesses on areas including: Financial analysis at a strategic level Strategic growth planning Operational and organisational effectiveness Commercial and financial performance improvement Leadership and business structure alignment Exit readiness and succession strategy Resource and capacity optimisation Long-term business value creation Clients are typically established SMEs seeking practical strategic guidance from someone with genuine commercial experience rather than purely theoretical consultancy exposure.
What We're Looking For
Significant senior leadership or business ownership experience Strong understanding of commercial finance and business performance Experience influencing board-level decision making Credibility with SME owners and leadership teams Strategic mindset combined with practical commercial judgement Existing professional network and relationship-building capability You do not need to be technically qualified within tax or accountancy. Comprehensive training will be provided on the consultancy's proprietary financial analysis systems, advisory methodologies, and strategic planning tools.
