Senior Strategy Consultant - ESG Disclosures
This is a great opportunity to join the Responsible Business team within Strategy, Performance and Sustainability. We’re looking for a Senior Strategy Consultant to join our team to develop our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) disclosures.
We are a small team with a wide ranging and varied remit, undertaking important and influential work to very high standards and tight deadlines. You’ll be responsible for communicating externally on our progress against our ESG ambitions and Mutual Good Commitments, through our externally facing ESG Disclosures, as well as other internal reporting. You’ll work with key internal stakeholders from across the business to gather all the information needed to help you communicate our achievements externally.

The working hours (per week) for this role can be between 28 and 35 hours.

For this job, you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part-time, you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at our Swindon office. What you’ll be doing
In this exciting role, you’ll be instrumental in developing our annual ESG Disclosures, communicating our progress in a clear, understandable, and impactful way. You’ll be working closely with stakeholders across the business to understand progress and develop the key messages to be communicated. You’ll also produce internal reporting on our progress towards our Mutual Good Commitments.
We’ll need you to maintain an awareness of external developments relating to ESG matters, including current and future regulatory and reporting activity, and understand what our competitors are doing and how this compares to Nationwide.

About you We’re interested in people who enjoy looking ahead, thinking strategically, and seeing the bigger picture. We would like you to have/be:
An excellent communicator and narrator Outstanding and proven writing skills to produce high-quality narrative fit for external publication. These skills will be used for drafting our external ESG disclosures Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the importance of being a socially responsible business and working knowledge within ESG Proactive, willing to take ownership of yours and others’ work, and to drive it forward, at pace, to meet your goals Comfortable in dealing with ambiguity and a self-starter, with the ability to tackle complex issues and undertake analysis on a broad range of topics Adept at presenting your thoughts to internal stakeholders, including senior leaders, and engaging and responding to queries and challenges Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and able to create high-quality materials to communicate sometimes complex ideas in a clear and engaging manner A team player, with the ability and willingness to share your knowledge with colleagues within the business
