We are looking for an experienced structural analyst to strengthen engineering and simulation capabilities. This is an opportunity to take ownership of advanced structural analyses while collaborating with multidisciplinary experts in an international environment. Success in this position requires strong analytical thinking and the ability to translate complex technical challenges into practical solutions.
About The Role
As Convion is now part of the HD Hyundai Corporation, you will work on the Convion team in close collaboration with the HD hydrogen team in Korea. You will collaborate with R&D teams in thermofluids, design, and system analysis, providing you with an international and multicultural environment alongside highly talented colleagues.
In this position, you will work with engineering and simulation capabilities in high-temperature energy systems, with a strong focus on solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) and solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) applications.
The role focuses on advanced structural analyses of thermally loaded components operating under extreme conditions, including high temperatures, strong thermomechanical coupling, and long service lifetimes. You will play an important role in assessing structural integrity, supporting product design, and developing efficient simulation workflows.
You will work in close collaboration with thermofluids, system design, materials, and R&D teams in an international and multicultural environment.

Work tasks
Perform advanced structural and FEM analyses for mechanical components, structures and assemblies in high-temperature energy systems Conduct creep, fatigue, strength, stiffness, and thermomechanical analyses to assess long-term structural integrity and performance Develop, verify, and validate FEM models using ANSYS, Abaqus, SimScale or Altair Hypermesh Assess structural behaviour under combined thermal, mechanical, pressure, and time-dependent loading conditions Support the design and development of SOFC and SOEC systems through simulation-driven engineering and structural assessments Evaluate high-temperature components, including stack structures, compression systems, manifolds, piping, and other balance-of-plant equipment Contribute to multiphysics analyses where CFD and thermal effects influence structural performance Develop and maintain scripting, automation, and workflow optimization solutions for FEM and structural analysis activities Conduct structural optimization studies, including parametric and sensitivity analyses Prepare technical documentation, calculation reports, and engineering guidelines to support product development and design decisions
We are looking for
Master's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering and a strong background in solid mechanics and strength analysis Minimum 5 years of relevant industrial experience in structural analysis and FEM Strong hands-on experience with ANSYS, Abaqus, or SimScale Proven expertise in creep analysis for high-temperature applications Strong background in structural strength and stiffness analysis Experience in fatigue and cyclic loading analysis Experience in contact and nonlinear structural analysis Strong scripting and workflow automation skills Basic programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or similar Full working proficiency in English

It is meritorious if you have
Experience with SOFC and/or SOEC technologies Knowledge of CFD and conjugate heat transfer (CHT) Familiarity with CAD tools such as Siemens NX or SolidWorks Experience with multidisciplinary or structural optimization Knowledge of ASME and/or Eurocodes Experience with high-temperature materials and creep-resistant alloys Experience working in energy systems, fuel cells, or similar high-temperature industrial environments
