About The Role
To support our project teams to deliver meaningful and measurable social impact
within the communities in which we operate through sustainable economic development, training, engagement with education, and supporting the community to meet their aspirations through charitable giving and volunteering.
What you'll be doing
Work closely with construction project teams and our public sector customers to research, develop and deliver bespoke engagement plans to satisfy project requirements around social impact including the creation of project communications plans and associated collateral. Engage with local communities to understand the specific, local drivers and how Balfour Beatty projects can deliver meaningful and measurable community benefits which are proportionate and relevant to the needs of the local community. Develop a robust understanding of our individual customers and what is important to them in terms of their impact on surrounding communities and tailor our approach to satisfy their needs. Build and maintain a strong network of community organisations, education contacts and employability providers to support the delivery of all project requirements. Work with schools, college, and universities to develop STEM and career- based resources for students and deliver these workshops within schools and Further Education institutions. Support national Work Winning Teams as a subject matter expert to develop tender proposals for upcoming projects and, where necessary, represent the Social Impact team at project interviews.
Who we're looking for
Understanding of the community benefits agenda within Scotland and the wider social impact landscape. Knowledge of the National Performance Framework and the principles of sustainable development. Sound understanding of Community Wealth Building and regional economies.
