An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, experienced, innovative and enthusiastic Senior Nurse to become the Senior Staff Nurse within the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at Woodend Hospital working as an integral part of the neurological rehabilitation pathway.

This a great opportunity for a senior nurse to join the Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership, experience working in an integrated service and play an integral part in ensuring the patient journey from admission to discharge is as pleasant as possible.

This is a challenging post in which the successful candidate will take responsibility for facilitating and providing clinical leadership and ensuring the delivery of high quality nursing care. Evidence of continuing professional development is essential. Excellent communication skills are a vital part of this senior post as is a genuine interest in care of patients following a stroke.

Evidence of excellent leadership skills will be required in this post to lead the nursing team forward to ensure the safe and effective delivery of patient care. The successful applicant will have a lead role in further developing the established ethos of the wider multi-disciplinary team towards the goal of a fully integrated, seamless patient pathway that is driven by goal-led rehabilitation planning.

The successful candidate should have at least two years experience at Band 5 and be able to evidence leadership skills and their application to practice.

The Stroke Rehabilitation Unit is a ward of 28 beds providing rehabilitation for patients following a stroke with varying levels of dependency, many requiring complex discharge planning including guardianship and cognitive impairment.

Additional Information For Candidates

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
