This vacancy is only available for applications from existing Internal Plymouth City Council employees and Agency Workers who are in an active placement and have 12 weeks continuous service. An opportunity has arisen to support the contract management function for the Energy from Waste CHP Facility in Plymouth on behalf of Plymouth City Council, Devon County Council and Torbay Council acting as the South West Devon Waste Partnership.

The role is offered on a temporary basis for 12 months to cover a secondment and would be well suited to someone with a strong administrative background and is looking to gain skills towards contract management and/or waste management.

As a dedicated but small contract management function, the role will involve managing all administrative aspects relating to the contract and partnership including maintaining contractual information and data, acting as a point of contact for the partnership, processing invoices and purchase orders and preparing all meetings and taking accurate minutes, ensuring confidentiality. In addition, the role will require engagement with and supporting community liaison activities such as school visits to the site as necessary and provide exposure / opportunities to learn and develop skills for managing and monitoring performance of a service-based contract.

You will be expected to demonstrate high levels of organisational and communication skills and be self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.

The function operates on a flexible working basis subject to the needs of the service and offers a blend of home working and office based at the Energy from Waste facility.
