Job Summary
Provides general administrative support and customer service; executes tasks for the Bemis School of Art.
Responsibilities
- Provides support to students, faculty, staff, other departments and/external constituencies on day-to-day operational and administrative issues for all programs of Bemis School of Art.
- Assist visitors to the department and direct requests for assistance to the appropriate department staff or faculty; act as liaison between visitors, students, parents, and faculty.
- Provide high quality customer service - directions, phones, registration, parking passes.
- Provide support to instructors – attendance sheets, copies, supply needs.
- Assist with general office management, including: responding to all communications (emails, telephone, voicemail), providing excellent customer service.
- Assist with the accuracy, maintenance, and confidentiality of all 3,000-5,000 student records.
- Provide studio support and interface with instructors by stocking, organizing and maintaining supplies. Assist with equipment needs.
- Assist with special event programming to include Family Adventure Days, Art Jam and other programs as needed.
- Open/close cash drawer as needed; manage cash transactions for clay purchases, studio time or merchandise sales.
- Support and actively contribute to the goal of achieving greater diversity, inclusion and equity at Colorado College and work effectively with all members of the campus community.
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental protection by working in a safe manner; immediately reporting unsafe situations and accidents; following college procedures; and participating in appropriate safety training.
- Demonstrate environmental sustainability by using college resources wisely and supporting the college’s sustainability initiatives and innovation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate plus one year of related work experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar and basic business math; excellent organizational and customer service skills; good judgment and ability to handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion; ability to think critically and solve problems; ability to operate standard office equipment.
