Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking a friendly, motivated, and adaptable individual who is eager to learn and develop their skills within a busy service area. You should be well organised, willing to take on new challenges, and able to communicate clearly with colleagues and customers, both verbally and in writing. A positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential.

As an apprentice supporting Environmental Services, you will gain experience in a range of business support activities, including:

Accurate data entry and maintaining records Using in‑house systems and databases Developing skills in quality assurance, finance, and effective administrative practice Providing excellent customer service, including responding to telephone enquiries Building knowledge and practical experience across the wide range of business support functions within the service

This apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity to build confidence, develop new skills, and contribute to the delivery of high‑quality services for our residents.

The role will be based across two of our main sites in Pontypridd and Treforest, ensuring you gain broad experience across different business support environments.

What Will You Study?

All Apprentices will be supported to complete a Level 3 Business and Administration qualification.

What will you be paid?

This Is a Fixed Term Post For a Two-year Period, Starting In September 2026. You Will Be Paid National Minimum Wage Dependent On Age

21 & over £12.71 18 - 20 £10.85 Under 18 £8.00

Important Eligibility Information

Due to the Apprenticeship entry criteria, we are unable to accept applications from anyone who has already achieved a similar qualification at Level 3 or above in the subject area of the apprenticeship they are applying for.

For Example

If you hold a degree in Civil Engineering, you would not be eligible to apply for a Civil Engineering apprenticeship. However, you would still be welcome to apply for any other apprenticeship pathway.

Applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be considered.
