Theatre Technician

You will work as a collaborative member of the technical team in the School of Performance and Cultural Industries. Under the direction of the Lead Technician, you will provide general support for teaching, research and Enterprise and Knowledge Transfer (EKT) activities through the provision of audio-visual, IT and theatre and performance production support, equipment management and loan; undertaking minor first-line maintenance and other commensurate duties as required.

You will have specific responsibility for providing specialist support within the areas of performance lighting and sound, and the installation of sets and staging in performance spaces. You should be educated to HND level or possess equivalent professional industry experience. Responsibilities will include collaborating with others to ensure the smooth operations of room and equipment booking systems and administrating the equipment asset register in agreement with the Lead Technician. Please be aware that this post will require some moderate to heavy lifting.

Flexible working hours (evenings and weekends) will be required to facilitate the School's performance schedules for which time in lieu will be given.
