The Role:
As a Trainee Developer in our HR Support team, you will be at the heart of the technology that drives NEXT. Your mission is to develop and support the systems used by every colleague across the company, ensuring our internal platforms are efficient and effective.
Join a highly collaborative team of experts and play an instrumental role in our technology lifecycle. Your work will span from delivering critical day-to-day troubleshooting in our Production environment and leveraging AI to drive process efficiency, to designing innovative new features.
We are deeply committed to your professional growth, offering dedicated support and comprehensive training to ensure you master our bespoke systems and build a successful, long-term career in technology.
What You’ll Take On:
- Support our systems: Act as a key member of the support team, ensuring essential HR business processes run smoothly every day.
- Drive efficiency: Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks, helping the department become faster and more effective.
- Collaborate across teams: Work with other systems teams to resolve issues and improve workflows.
- Flexible support: Provide additional support during key events, and our peak trading periods to ensure we continue to deliver for the business.
What You’ll Bring:
- Technical foundation: Skills in C# .Net, SQL/TSQL, and JavaScript.
- Tool familiarity: Experience with Visual Studio, TFS, GIT, and VB Script.
- Analytical mindset: A natural curiosity and the ability to learn new systems and document logic from scratch.
- Problem-solving strengths: The patience to analyse legacy systems and understand how they function.
- Collaborative spirit: A team-player mindset with the ability to communicate clearly with technical and business users.
- Proactive attitude: A desire to continuously expand your technical knowledge and an interest in how AI can improve processes.
If you have the technical expertise and a collaborative mindset to strengthen the systems our colleagues rely on, we would love to see your application.
