What You’ll Be Doing

Buying a home is one of the biggest financial decisions someone will ever make, and role puts you right at the centre of it.

As a Trainee Mortgage Adviser, you’ll:

Speak with customers to understand their needs and goals

Research and recommend mortgage solutions tailored to them and their needs

Learn how to balance great customer outcomes with strict regulatory standards

Build trust and long-term relationships with clients

Develop the confidence to guide people through complex financial decisions

You’ll start by learning the foundations, but quickly progress to handling your own cases as your knowledge grows.

What We’re Looking For

We’re not expecting finished advisers, this is a trainee role after all! But we are looking for potential and a driven, can do attitude.

You might be early in your career, currently in a customer-facing or sales role, and ready to step up into something bigger.

You’ll need to be:

Ambitious - you want a career, not just a payslip

Resilient - this is a fast-paced, target-driven environment

Hardworking - as your effort directly impacts your earning potential

Confident & personable - able to build rapport quickly and effectively with clients

Organised - able to manage multiple cases and priorities well

Experience in financial services is a bonus—but not essential.

FCA Certification Regime & Conduct RulesL&C is authorised and regulated by the FCA and is classified as an Enhanced Firm under the Senior Manager’s and Certification Regime (SM&CR). This role is subject to the 6 FCA Conduct rules and you will be expected to adhere to them at all times. (See below). Any confirmed breaches of the Conduct Rules will be reported to the FCA annually. Should you apply for a Certified role in another financial services firm then L&C may be required to disclose this information in a Regulatory Reference request.
