Trustee - Cultural Fundraising
Mansfield Town Film Festival (MTFF) is seeking an ambitious and well-connected individual to join our Board of Trustees as Trustee for Cultural Fundraising at a pivotal moment in the organisation’s growth.
Founded in 2023, MTFF has rapidly grown into Nottinghamshire’s largest film festival and, as of 2026, is now officially a BIFA-qualifying film festival for British Short Films - a major national milestone that places Mansfield within the recognised pathway to the British Independent Film Awards.
Built from a strong ethos around championing working-class and underrepresented voices in film, MTFF has become recognised for delivering high-quality, accessible film culture outside traditional metropolitan centres. In just three years, the festival has:
Welcomed hundreds of filmmakers from across the UK and internationally Screened over 350 films from 760+ submissions Engaged significant numbers of first-time cultural attendees Developed year-round audience and talent initiatives including Reel Futures Helped reposition Mansfield as an emerging cultural and creative hub within the East Midlands
As we enter this next phase of development, we are looking for a Trustee who can help unlock new opportunities for investment, sponsorship, philanthropy and strategic growth.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about the power of culture to drive social change, regional growth and creative opportunity - particularly in working-class communities.
We are especially interested in hearing from individuals with experience in:
Cultural fundraising and sponsorship Arts Council England and public funding environments Corporate partnerships and philanthropy Strategic business development Regional cultural leadership Creative industries and place-based cultural development
The successful candidate will help support:
Long-term fundraising strategy Sponsorship development Major partnership cultivation Advocacy and stakeholder engagement Organisational sustainability and growth
This is not simply an opportunity to join a festival board - it is an opportunity to help shape one of the UK’s fastest-growing regional film festivals at a genuinely transformative moment.
With BIFA qualification secured, growing regional and national recognition, and ambitious plans for expansion across audience development, education and screen culture, MTFF is now entering a significant new chapter.
We believe culture should not be concentrated solely in major cities, and that world-class creative opportunities can and should exist in towns like Mansfield.
If you share that belief, we’d love to hear from you.
