Utility Surveyor - Scotland
Survey Solutions is a leading UK engineering surveying business, specialising in land surveys, measured building surveys, underground utility surveys, monitoring and site engineering services. As we continue to grow, we are looking to recruit an experienced Utility Surveyor to join our busy Glasgow office.
With a network of regional offices across the UK, our surveyors and engineers work on a wide range of major construction, infrastructure, development and civil engineering projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Utilities Surveyor / Underground Utility Surveyor who wants to work with modern survey technology, develop their technical expertise and play a key role in delivering high quality and trusted survey data solutions, tailored to client needs.
As a Utility Surveyor, you will independently complete a full range of small to large-scale utility surveys and CCTV drainage surveys, using innovative equipment and survey methods.
You will be confident working on multi-disciplinary survey projects and will have a strong understanding of utility surveying methods, data capture, site procedures and health and safety requirements. You will also have the opportunity to share your knowledge with trainee and junior team members, supporting their development through practical onsite and office-based experience.
This is a full-time role with travel to client sites across Scotland. Site hours may vary, so overtime and occasional weekend working will be required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
