Warehouse Shift Manager

GXO are looking for a Warehouse Shift Manager to join us at our new site in Wellingborough. You’ll be responsible for driving efficient operational performance on shift, ensuring service levels are met, and maintaining strong communication with the senior management team. You’ll lead, coach and develop colleagues to deliver results, all while promoting a safe, high‑performance culture.
This is a full-time, permanent position, where you’ll be working an ‘any 5 from 7’ shift pattern. The hours of work will rotate weekly between 06:00 – 14:00 and 14:00 - 22:00.
Pay, benefits and more:
You’ll be paid a salary of up to £40,000. You’ll also receive 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
Take full operational responsibility for the day to day running of the warehouse on your shift, you’ll lead, motivate and develop your team to achieve challenging targets Create and maintain a positive team culture, by actively encouraging involvement from all, to improve employee engagement Identify cost saving initiatives and implement corrective actions where appropriate to maximise the efficiency of the warehouse operation With good understanding of Health & Safety you’ll strive to make sure all operational processes are fully compliant with our policies, while accurately identifying risks and escalating your findings Communicate effectively with senior management, providing updates and insight
What you need to succeed at GXO:
Previous experience as a Shift Manager in a large, fast‑paced warehouse environment Competent user of Warehouse Management Systems, with JDA/Red Prairie experience being an advantage Experience managing conflicting priorities, with the ability to plan and organise a warehouse operation Excellent people skills - the ability to effectively lead, develop and manage a team, whilst identifying areas for development and recognising success
