We are seeking a motivated Obstetrics and Gynaecology resident doctor to lead a project about postnatal debriefing and pre-pregnancy care following spontaneous pre-term birth. The successful candidate will be expected to register for an MD with University of Liverpool.

Requirements

  • Currently working at ST3 level or above, although it may be more suitable for a more senior trainee.
  • Doctors both in and outside of a training programme are welcome to apply.
  • Current UK professional registration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a project about postnatal debriefing and pre-pregnancy care following spontaneous pre-term birth.
  • Register for an MD with University of Liverpool.
  • Participate in all pre-term birth prevention clinic sessions at the Liverpool Women's Hospital.
  • Join the full on call rota (ST3-7 on call is currently a full shift on call on 1 in 14 rota, including 1 set of 4 weekday nights and 1 set of weekend nights every 14 weeks and 2 sets of twilight shifts (17:00 - 23:00) and 2 sets of daytime weekend duties in 14 weeks).
  • Co-develop a plan for providing postnatal debriefs and pre-pregnancy care in partnership with women who have experienced sPTB by:
    • Reviewing research models on debriefing.
    • Gathering insights from women, partners and families.
    • Consulting healthcare providers on challenges and facilitators.
    • Creating outlines of models of care.
    • Exploring resources to implement models of care.
    • Creating a roadmap for national implementation of postnatal debriefs and pre-pregnancy care.
