Working with OCS UK & Ireland, a leading facilities management company, you will be responsible for the technical and commercial aspects of tenders. This role involves reviewing new tenders, preparing pricing, allocating deliverables, and conducting quantity take-offs. You will liaise with customers to understand bid requirements, manage estimating tools, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliant tenders. A key part of the role includes contributing to risk assessments, value engineering, and maintaining tendering databases. You will also be responsible for compiling handover files for successful tenders and supporting bid presentations.
Requirements
- Prior experience in the Building Services sector (operational or estimating).
- Experience reading and understanding tender drawings and bill of quantities.
- Experience working with and developing schedule of rates.
- Strong PC skills, particularly MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with ‘Estimation’ Trimble Software or similar.
- Full Driving License.
Responsibilities
- Conduct reviews of new tenders and create action plans.
- Prepare the pricing element of tenders.
- Allocate Tender Deliverables to relevant Departments.
- Undertake quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Transfer quantities into estimation and send out enquiries for materials and specialist sub-contractors.
- Review the Tender and Control Sheet with the Project delivery team.
- Present Tender Proposals for approval.
- Submit Tenders to Clients with all deliverables.
- Deliver the financial submission of individual tenders.
- Contribute to risk assessment and ensure all risks are included.
- Lead or support Value Engineering exercises and target costs.
- Maintain tendering databases.
- Perform information roles on BIM enabled Projects as defined in PAS1192-2 or the project BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
- Maintain contact with customers to understand bid requirements.
- Follow up on submitted tenders.
- Ensure Estimating Smartsheet accuracy and update tracker for estimate requests.
- Assist other estimators on larger tenders.
- Liaise with Commercial, Design, Operations, and Bid Support.
- Provide feedback to Salesforce administrators.
- Compile handover files for successful tenders.
- Support the Bid Manager with Tender Proposal Documentation.
- Provide support or attend Post Tender Interviews / PT Presentations.
- Ensure employees and contractors are aware of Health & Safety obligations.
- Ensure work is costed in accordance with the Health & Safety policy.
- Help create and maintain a positive safety culture.
