ICT Analyst Specialist / Technical Engineer

Requirements

  • Educated to degree level in related subject or equivalent qualifications/ experience.
  • The ability to demonstrate extensive skills as an ICT Support Specialist.
  • Significant experience working within an IT-Customer Support environment, providing 3rd line technical support.
  • Extensive hands-on experience of Windows Server Operating systems
  • Knowledge of ticket logging systems and exposure to incident and problem management.
  • Experience and knowledge of working in a large Acute NHS Trust.
  • A high level of analytical and fault/problem-solving capability.
  • Good Documentation skills. Familiarity with diagram drawing software such as MS VISIO.
  • Highly self-motivated, self-starter.
  • Able to effectively interact and work at all levels with a wide range of professions including non-technical users, senior managers, suppliers, contractors, facilities management and medical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day to day running of the trusts Active Directory, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, SilverFort, ADFS, Patching and Antivirus infrastructure.
  • Supporting the end user experience team and assisting the Advanced Technical Engineers and Software Delivery and Authentication Team leader when required.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the trust Active Directory, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, SilverFort, Patching and Antivirus infrastructure.
  • Responsible for daily housekeeping tasks including but not limited to:
    • Maintenance of systems and environments together with testing.
    • Maintenance of the Trusts Patching & Software Delivery.
    • Responsible for identifying and escalating ICT risks to the Team Leader. Initiate risk assessments, develop and implement solutions where necessary in accordance with the change control process.
    • Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of MFA for privileged accounts.
    • Responsible for the remote delivery of Trust applications.
    • Monitoring the teams service call queue and actioning incidents and requests.
    • Assist Advanced Senior Technical Analysts with Projects.
    • To assist with the implementation of Microsoft Group Policies to control the Windows environment.
    • To assist with the Trust Antivirus Solution implementing policies and assuring infrastructure is protected with up-to-date Anti-virus software.
  • Maintain Active Directory, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, SilverFort, ADFS, Patching and Antivirus infrastructure.
  • Ensuring systems are secure, resilient, and comply with ICT standards and procedures.
  • Assist with the security of the ICT infrastructure, ensuring that all servers and workstations are maintained with the latest approved versions, critical/security patches and are monitored/reviewed for any anomalies/faults.
  • To Assist with SilverFort (MFA) related issues when requested by Senior members.
  • Assist the ICT Consultant/Server Manager with Active Directory auditing using provided tools to ensure that the Directory is as up-to-date as possible and to facilitate the disabling and deletion of stale / unused user and computer accounts.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the trust Certification Authority servers and Domain controllers.
  • Logging support calls with third party support companies to rectify issues and bottlenecks when requested by senior members of the team.
  • Ensure Topology diagrams and documents are kept up to date.
  • Carry out prompt escalation of possible faults or problems to ICT Consultant/Server Manager or other appropriate ICT management.
  • The successful candidate will be required to travel to the variety of King’s sites in this cross-site role and take part (if required) in the out of hours ICT Server team on-call team to cover service affecting issues outside the standard 8-6 working hours and 24/7 at weekends.
