The Montefiore Hospital is recruiting for a Nursing Team Lead to join us on a permanent basis to assist in the management of our outpatient unit. You will work with a supportive team that includes nurses, senior nurses and senior management, ensuring teams deliver effective patient care by providing excellent clinical and managerial leadership.
Requirements
- NMC registered Nurse with no restrictions on practice
- Experience of analysing staff and outpatient management problems and coming up with viable solutions
- Demonstrable experience of working as a practitioner in and across multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixes
- Experience of working in partnership with consultants and participating in creating innovative solutions for the service
- Previous supervisory experience
- Experience of independent sector
- Experience of supporting the commercial development of a business
Responsibilities
- Provide exemplary planned care for patients while managing a team.
- Ensure the team delivers effective patient care by providing appropriate clinical and managerial leadership.
- Provide appropriate day to day managerial leadership in absence of Outpatient Manager
- Promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of all Patients, Employees and Consultants acting as an advocate to more junior members of the team
- Provide effective and efficient clinical leadership and management of ward resources, driving clinical excellence in all aspects of care received by patients
- Responsible for supporting the senior ward staff and the nursing team to meet all aspects of the clinical governance agenda
- Plan off duty to meet the needs of the department
- Plan and deliver training and education to team members
- Represent the outpatient team at meetings when the Manager is unavailable
- Take a leadership role alongside the Outpatient Manager in the planning, development and implementation of expanded services within the service
- Ensure the day to day running of the outpatient remains in line with safe staffing policy
- Take an active role in the clinical audit and action program for the unit
