You will join a dynamic multi-disciplinary team in a secure, closed environment caring for adults with complex mental health needs, often detained under the Mental Health Act. You'll assess, diagnose, and treat inpatients, contributing to individualised recovery pathways aimed at community reintegration.
Requirements
- Fully registered with GMC
- Substantial psychiatric experience
- MRCPsych or equivalent OR SAS qualification
- Experience in mental health rehabilitation and risk management
- Confidence working in a locked rehab setting
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality psychiatric care through assessments, medication management, MDT ward rounds, and risk formulation.
- Develop and implement tailored care and discharge plans.
- Collaborate with OT, nursing, psychology, social work, and external agencies.
- Contribute to clinical governance, audits, teaching, and service improvement initiatives.
- Undertake assessments, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Develop Care and Treatment Plans under the Mental Health (Wales) Measure.
- Participate in MDT ward rounds, risk assessments, and discharge planning.
- Physical health monitoring.
- Adhere to GMC Good Medical Practice, Caldicott principles, and legal frameworks including the Mental Health Act.
