Worcestershire County Council Trading Standards Service is looking for two experienced Trading Standards Officers to join its hard-working team. The team is co-located with the shared regulatory service, delivered on behalf of the six district councils, with officers working closely with Environmental Health and Licensing colleagues.
Role 1 focuses on commercial practices, including illicit tobacco, underage sales, and counterfeit goods.
Role 2 focuses on food standards and driving this activity.
The service is intelligence-led, operating to the Trading Standards Intelligence Operating Model. Successful candidates will deliver the full range of tasked activities within their area, including investigations and project work, and identify intelligence-based cases for development and delivery.
Requirements
- Competent professional with significant experience in enforcement activity across a range of functions.
- Experience in weights and measures qualification or other Trading Standards related qualifications.
- Ability to deal with a wide range of different customers and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work to strict deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Deliver the full range of tasked activities within your area of focus.
- Conduct investigations and project work.
- Identify intelligence-based cases for submission to the service’s monthly tasking meeting.
- Engage with a wide range of partners and maintain good relationships with various bodies.

- Salary: £37,036 to £43,648 per annum
