Job Title: 1-1 Teaching Assistant
Contract: Fixed Term - Full Time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Up to £21,041 per Annum
This is a fixed-term position linked to a specific pupil and will remain in place while the pupil attends the school.

Role Purpose
The post holder will assist in the educational and social development of a pupil (on 1:1 basis) with special educational needs, under the direction of the SENDCo and teaching staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their individual targets.
- Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress against agreed objectives.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCo and external professionals to support the pupil's learning and wellbeing.
- Promote independence, confidence, social skills and positive behaviour.
- Assist with classroom preparation, learning resources and maintaining an engaging learning environment.
- Support the pupil's emotional, social and personal development both inside and outside the classroom.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews of pupil progress.
- Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times.

About You
- Qualified Teaching Assistant with a good standard of English and Maths.
- Experience supporting children in an educational setting, ideally within an SEN environment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with pupils, parents and colleagues.
- Warm, patient and nurturing approach, with a strong understanding of pupil wellbeing and pastoral needs.
- Creative, proactive and able to use initiative to support learning and engagement.
- Organised, flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and individual pupil needs.
- Committed to safeguarding, confidentiality and maintaining high professional standards.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
- Willing to undertake further training and professional development.

Desirable
- Additional SEN-related qualifications or training.
- Evidence of ongoing CPD.
- Good ICT skills and confidence using educational technology.
- Experience working with external professionals and implementing pupil support plans.
