St Nicholas First School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 1 - 2 - 1 Teaching Assistant to join our Early years team initially. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in children's early learning journey within our supportive school community, part of Codsall Multi Academy Trust.

The Role at a Glance

  • Position: Early Years 1-2-1 Teaching Assistant
  • Location: St Nicholas First School, Reception class
  • Salary: Grade 4, Point 6: £26,847 (FTE)
    Actual Salary: £20,478.00 per annum
  • Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Term Time only including Teacher training days
  • Contract: Fixed Term attached to EHCP funding (12 months initial contract, with possibility of following the pupil through further 4 years)
  • Start Date: ASAP

About The Role

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant in our Reception, you will:

  • Support children's learning and development through engaging, play-based activities that inspire curiosity and creativity
  • Work collaboratively with our experienced Early Years team to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment
  • Help children develop their social, emotional, and academic skills during these crucial early years
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure every child thrives
  • Contribute to planning and assessment to meet individual children's needs

Essential

What We're Looking For

  • A genuine passion for Early Years education and child development
  • Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting
  • Relevant qualifications (Level 2 in Childcare/Early Years or equivalent, or willingness to work towards)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, creativity, and a positive, can-do attitude
  • A practitioner who is always vigilant and takes responsibility
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare
  • An individual who is creative and fun and committed to developing pupil independence
  • The ability to facilitate and deliver professional programmes including SALT, Physio etc

Desirable

  • Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years or equivalent
  • Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs specifically Prader Willi Syndrome
