Your Role as an Outreach Tutor
Education
As an Outreach Tutor, you’ll be more than a teacher – you’ll be a mentor and guide for students who need extra support outside mainstream education, whether due to SEN, SEMH, or risk of exclusion. Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll be doing:
- Personalised Tutoring: Tailor your lessons to students’ unique learning styles in subjects such as Maths, English, PSHE, and more.
- Inspire and Support: Help students overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve their academic goals.
- Build Connections: Foster trust and communication with students and their families, creating a supportive learning environment.
- Adapt and Innovate: Use the latest educational resources and technology to make learning engaging and effective.

Our students range from EYFS to Year 11, and we support learning up to GCSE/Functional Skills levels. Sessions may take place in students’ homes, libraries, or schools.
Qualifications And Skills
We’re looking for individuals with:
- Experience in tutoring or teaching (essential) and a good grasp of literacy and numeracy.
- A background with students of varying ages, including those with SEND.
- Preferred Qualifications: QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or a degree in Education, English, Maths, or a related field.
- Essential Attributes: Strong communication, patience, empathy, and a passion for student growth.
- Enhanced DBS Check: Required to work with our students.
