1:1 Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Worcester, UK
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only (5 days a week)
Role is to start ASAP and will continue until at least December but likely to be the full Academic year.
Academics are currently seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and resilient 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Worcester. This is a full-time, term-time-only position working closely with a primary-aged pupil who requires tailored, one-to-one support to access the curriculum and thrive within a mainstream classroom environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting children with additional learning needs, with specific experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum (ASD) being a distinct advantage.

Role Responsibilities
- 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant: Provide dedicated academic, social, and emotional support to a pupil with special educational needs. Adapt classroom activities and learning materials under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO to suit the student's specific needs.
- Behavioral Management: Implement positive behavior support strategies, promoting emotional regulation and focus.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a youth/education support role. Experience working with children with autism (ASD) is highly desirable.
- Patient, empathetic, energetic, and adaptable with a calm approach to challenging situations.
- Ideally hold relevant childcare, education, or SEN qualifications (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent degrees) are an advantage, though practical experience is equally valued.
- You will need an Enhanced DBS or be willing to apply for one through Academics.
