Rochdale

11+ Tutor

As an 11+ Tutor, you will form part of a close-knit team dedicated to closing gaps in prior learning, building advanced skills, and helping us to create fearless learners ready to tackle their grammar school entrance exams.

The Role

Everyone remembers a person who has inspired them - a teacher, a friend, a family member, someone who changed how they saw things, solved a problem, or recognised their potential. The 11+ journey can be a stressful time for both children and parents, and as an 11+ Tutor, you will be the mentor who turns that anxiety into confidence and inspires children to become learners for life.

You’ll be working with small groups of up to 6 children (primarily in Years 4 and 5) from mixed backgrounds. You’ll be helping them master advanced Key Stage 2 Maths and English, while also demystifying the tricky concepts of Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.

Your role is to help them work out complex tasks, teach vital exam techniques (such as time management for GL and CEM formats), celebrate when they have a go, and recognise their hard work and effort.

We’re all dedicated to providing exceptional service to our members in our centres, and you’ll form an integral part of that experience for families by keeping parents updated on their child's progress. It’s crucial that you embody our Vision and Values and become a great ambassador for Learning Cubs - an individual passionate about setting high standards and making sure the Rochdale centre is the very best it can be.

  • Passionate Educators: People with a genuine passion for education who can deliver exceptional service and communicate progress clearly to parents.
  • Team Players: Fun, exciting people who will throw themselves into the Rochdale centre’s atmosphere and work collaboratively with the team.
  • Experienced Teachers: Individuals with proven experience working with and teaching children (tutoring or classroom experience preferred).
  • Brand Ambassadors: Inspiring individuals who naturally embody the Learning Cubs ethos.

The Details

  • Part-time hours: 6-12 hours per week
  • Job Type: Part-time
  • Salary: £12.50-15.00 per hour
  • Deadline for application: 27/04/2026

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
