About the Opportunity:
We are looking to recruit a 12-Month Industrial Placement Student to join Evinova's Digital Strategy Team, based in Cambridge, UK. This position offers an outstanding chance to gain hands-on experience crafting the digital health and AI strategies that support AstraZeneca's R&D portfolio and Evinova's wider client base.

You'll work alongside Strategy Directors and cross-functional teams, contributing to real initiatives that influence how digital health solutions are designed, evaluated and delivered across clinical development.
Example Responsibilities:
- Ongoing project support: Provide ongoing support across 1–2 priority initiatives, building core skills in planning, communication, and stakeholder management while gaining hands-on experience delivering innovative solutions in clinical trials.
- Digital Health Planning: Partner with Strategy Directors to develop Digital Health Strategies at the Study, Programme, and Disease Area levels. Leverage market research, data analysis, and structured needs assessments to find opportunities and align priorities across cross-functional teams, patients, and healthcare professionals (HCPs).
- Solution landscape research: Support analysis of problem statements, vendor landscapes and selection criteria for digital solutions, such as patient recruitment, remote data collection and monitoring, ePRO/eCOA, digital biomarkers, and patient engagement platforms.
- AI trend tracking: Help maintain a pulse on emerging AI tools and trends redefining clinical development and operations, summarising pragmatic, value-led innovations for the wider team.
- Ways of working: Collaborate internally to improve ways of working and knowledge transfer between teams and departments.
- Communication: Present findings and progress updates to the team and, where appropriate, at wider department meetings, building confidence in engaging diverse stakeholders.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Required:
- Currently undertaking an undergraduate or integrated master's degree in life sciences, pharmacy, AI, data science, or a related discipline, with the opportunity to spend 1 year in industry starting in September 2027.
- Strong interest in the application of data and digital solutions to improve healthcare outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to build trust and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving capability and a proactive, innovative mindset.
- Collaborative team player who supports others and contributes positively to overcoming challenges.
Desirable:
- Experience in interpretation of data.
- Awareness of digital health concepts (e.g., wearables, sensors, ePRO/eCOA, patient apps) and/or clinical trials gained through coursework, projects or extracurricular activities.
- Experience of working in teams (could be in an educational or employment setting or any other team work you may have completed)
