Piper Companies Seeks Senior Research Associate II
Piper Companies is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Associate II to support the development of innovative cell-based therapies. This role will contribute to stem cell research, genetic engineering studies, and translational biology programs through hands-on laboratory experimentation and data analysis. This role is out of Cambridge, MA.
Responsibilities of the Senior RA II
- Perform routine culture, expansion, maintenance, and differentiation of human stem cells and other mammalian cell lines.
- Support research initiatives involving cellular engineering, gene modification, and evaluation of cellular function in both laboratory and preclinical settings.
- Monitor cell health, growth characteristics, sterility, and experimental quality while maintaining detailed laboratory records.
- Carry out molecular and cellular biology techniques, including nucleic acid extraction, cDNA preparation, gene expression analysis, and protein-based assays.
- Conduct experiments using technologies such as flow cytometry, quantitative PCR, digital PCR, ELISA, immunofluorescence, and related analytical methods.
- Assist in developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting experimental workflows and standard operating procedures.
- Compile, interpret, and present experimental findings using appropriate statistical and analytical methods.
- Maintain laboratory inventory, prepare reagents, monitor supplies, and coordinate purchasing of laboratory materials and equipment.

Qualifications of the Senior RA II
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with human pluripotent stem cell culture (IPSC), differentiation, and maintenance
- Experience in regenerative medicine, cell therapy, gene editing, or related therapeutic development fields.
- Must have experience working in a GMP-regulated biotech/biopharmaceutical environment
- Extensive experience performing techniques such as flow cytometry, RT-qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA, and immunostaining methods.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Regenerative Medicine, Genetics, or a related scientific discipline
Schedule requires weekend work – 40 hours per week (Thurs-Monday Shift or Fri-Tues)

Compensation for the Senior RA II
- Salary: $70,000 - $100,000, commensurate with experience
- Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision 401k, Paid Holidays, PTO (Paid Time Off), Sick leave required as by law
