Role Summary
Do you have a passion for making financial markets safer and more resilient to financial crime?
In this newly created role you'll be responsible for identifying, managing and evidencing financial crime risks in line with regulatory requirements and group-wide financial crime policies. The position will report to the Head of risk and resilience. The team works to drive the alignment to risk management policies and implement harmonised processes to promote the development of a strong risk culture within D&A.
This role acts as the bridge between product, Sales, operations teams and the 2nd Line Financial Crime function, ensuring high-quality delivery, risk transparency, and timely remediation of issues.
What you'll be doing
Act as the financial crime subject matter expert in D&A where you’ll be:
- Embedding financial crime risk management practices across D&A and executing financial crime controls on behalf of D&A business units
- Improving our oversight of delegated financial crime controls and processes across LSEG including AML/KYC, Sanctions, Fraud and CTF.
- Ensuring clear accountability and ownership of financial crime controls and risks across D&A
- Performing and maintaining financial crime and fraud risk assessments
- Supporting financial crime training and SME guidance to D&A businesses.
- Representing D&A in LSEG-wide financial crime remediation and transformation programmes
As part of broader First of Line of Defence team you’ll be:
- Producing financial crime MI, reporting and updates for governance forums
- Preparing and coordinating financial crime risk reporting and updates to governance forums
- Help promote a strong financial crime risk culture
- Coordinating and respond to Second Line reviews, internal audits, and external regulatory assessments!

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
