1st Line IT Admin Support

We are looking for a 1st Line IT Admin Support to join our IT team on an initial 3 months fix term contract. You will provide first-line IT administrative support, triage service desk tickets, and manage colleague onboarding and offboarding activities while ensuring a positive user experience and timely resolution of routine IT requests.

This is a full-time role, requiring 37.5 hours per week, working in our Gloucester office, on a 3 months fix term contract basis with the possibility of potentially becoming permanent.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Service Desk & Ticket Management

  • Monitor and triage incoming IT support tickets
  • Resolve basic first-line technical queries
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate IT specialists
  • Track ticket progress and ensure users receive regular updates
  • Maintain accurate service desk records

Joiners, Movers & Leavers

  • Coordinate IT onboarding for new starters
  • Support Microsoft 365 administration, including user management, licensing and mailbox administration
  • Set up laptops, peripherals and mobile devices
  • Ensure all system access is provisioned before start dates
  • Manage offboarding activities, including account deactivation and equipment recovery
  • Support internal role changes and access amendments

User Account Administration

  • Create and amend user accounts across business systems
  • Reset passwords and support account lockout requests
  • Manage distribution lists and shared mailboxes
  • Maintain user permissions in line with company processes

General IT Administration

  • Maintain IT asset registers
  • Record hardware allocation and returns
  • Assist with software licensing administration
  • Coordinate equipment deliveries and collections
  • Produce basic reporting on ticket volumes and service levels
  • Follow IT security policies and procedures

Colleague Support

  • Answer routine IT queries via Ticket and Telephone
  • Provide guidance on common applications and systems
  • Assist colleagues with Microsoft 365 issues
  • Support meeting room and conferencing technology where required
  • Deliver a professional and customer-focused support experience

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous Service Desk or IT Administration experience
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft 365
  • Organised and detail-oriented
  • Able to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable working independently with clear escalation routes
  • BC (Business Central) knowledge/skills desirable but not mandatory
