Maru is partnering with a major global bank making a significant investment in its Data Architecture capability, with two Director-level appointments now available.
This is an opportunity to join a growing function and have real influence over how Data Architecture and Data Modelling are shaped and embedded across a complex, global organisation.
We are hiring across two areas:
Lead Data Architect / Cross-Domain Director
A broad, enterprise-level architecture role, providing direction across major programmes and multiple data domains. You will shape target-state Data Architecture, influence senior stakeholders and help establish architecture standards and ways of working across the bank.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Banking or financial services experience would be valuable, but we are also interested in people from other large, complex and regulated organisations.
These are not simply delivery roles. Both offer the opportunity to help shape a developing Data Architecture function and influence how data is structured and managed across the organisation.
