Looking to take the next step in your procurement career and influence commercial decisions that support some of the most important work across government?

We're recruiting two Senior Procurement Officers to join the Government Legal Department's Commercial Sourcing Team.

This is an opportunity to join a team at the centre of the organisation, leading and supporting procurement activity across a diverse portfolio that includes professional services, legal technology, digital systems, AI, corporate services and specialist consultancy.

Working closely with stakeholders across GLD, you'll help shape sourcing strategies, deliver compliant procurements and ensure value for money while supporting the delivery of legal services across government.

What you'll be doing

  • Delivering end-to-end procurement activity from initial scoping through to contract award
  • Running compliant procurements through CCS frameworks and further competitions
  • Developing and implementing sourcing strategies in line with the Procurement Act 2023
  • Supporting evaluation and moderation processes
  • Drafting procurement documentation, including specifications, pricing models and evaluation criteria
  • Providing commercial advice to stakeholders and helping shape procurement approaches
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks and issues
  • Working with suppliers to support value for money and effective outcomes
  • Supporting governance, approvals and assurance requirements
  • Contributing to continuous improvement across procurement processes and ways of working

  • Experience delivering or supporting procurement and commercial activity
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver at pace
  • Experience identifying and managing risks
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
