Due to increasing student numbers and the continued growth of our Inclusive Learning provision, we are expanding our Inclusive Learning Team and have vacancies available from 20 to 35 hours per week.
Salary Grade E - £28,634 per annum pro rata

St Brendan's Sixth Form College is seeking caring, committed and proactive Inclusive Learning Assistants to join our expanding Inclusive Learning Team.
Due to continued growth in student numbers and our ongoing commitment to providing outstanding support for students, we are expanding our Inclusive Learning Team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly valued service that plays a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, achieve their full potential and fully participate in all aspects of college life. Working closely with students, teachers, families and external professionals, you will provide targeted support that enables students with additional needs to participate fully in both the academic and wider life of the College.
Whether you have experience in education, youth work, care, support services or another people-focused role, this position offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact on the lives of young people every day.
We are recruiting for roles of up to 35 hours per week and welcome applications from candidates interested in a range of working patterns.

About The Role
As an Inclusive Learning Assistant, you will provide targeted support to students with additional educational needs, helping them to access learning, overcome barriers and develop greater independence. [Inclusive...le 2026-27 | PDF]
You May Support Students
- In mainstream lessons
- In small group sessions
- On a one-to-one basis
- During enrichment and wider college activities
- During unstructured times where additional support is required
You Will
- Support students with a range of additional needs, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Help students develop strategies to improve learning, confidence and independence
- Work closely with teachers to ensure students can fully access the curriculum
- Contribute to the planning, monitoring and review of student support programmes
- Promote inclusion in both academic and social settings across the College
- Support literacy, numeracy and study skills development where appropriate
- Act as a keyworker for identified students where required
- Contribute to examination support arrangements for students with additional needs

Ideally, You Will Have
- Experience of working with young people
- Experience of supporting individuals with additional needs
- Experience within an educational environment or a similar setting
- An understanding of learning difficulties, disabilities and mental health needs
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) and a good standard of education, typically to Level 3
Most importantly, you will be motivated by helping young people overcome barriers and achieve their very best.
